The Pilgerhaus (pilgrims’ house) of the German Association of the Holy Land in Tabgha is located on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee. It invites pilgrims and guests to stay and relax body and soul. Due to its peaceful location near the Church of the Multiplication of Loaves and Fish, it is the ideal place for recreation, contemplation and encounters in the Holy Land. Together, the garden around the Pilgerhaus, the olive and fruit plantations and the lakeside form a “biblical park”. The Church of the Multiplication, St. Peter’s Primacy, Capernaum and the Mount of Beatitudes are close by.

The house offers space to reflect on biblical sources. Many spots on the extensive grounds invite our visitors to read the Bible, Meeting rooms and the meditation room offer opportunities for reflection and exchange. Tabgha is therefore a place of encounter: The encounter with people from different cultures, the encounter with one's own life and faith, the encounter with God in silence and prayer. The Pilgerhaus and the Benedictine monastery with its Encounter Center ‘Beit Noah’ for disabled people, for youth and children, are open to all guests from the Holy Land and abroad.

As an individual guest one can spend a tranquil time (e.g. a sabbatical) in Tabgha. Travel groups can combine their stay with further education, e.g. on biblical topics. For theologians, priests and religious, teachers of religion and catechists the house is an ideal place to study the “fifth gospel” – as the Holy Land is referred to. The Tabgha Pilgrims' House could also be your headquarter for a journey with a creative focus: Choirs can, for example, create a musical-biblical project week here. During contemplative days at the lake one can experience the fortitude of Bible reading on the actual site. The celebration of the Holy Week and Easter in Tabgha under the motto: “He is going before you to Galilee” or the participation in contemplative days in Advent are always well-received.
